'Kung Fu Panda' karate chops competition
November 19, 2008 Paramount/DreamWorks' "Kung Fu Panda" easily topped the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart the week ending Nov. 16, although an unusual Sunday street date prompted the title to actually debut on the chart the previous week, based solely on first-day sales. A two-pack, in which "Kung Fu Panda" was bundled with the direct-to-video sequel "Secrets of the Furious Five," sold well enough to debut at No. 3. The Golden Army, a fantasy action sequel with surprisingly strong home video sales, given its box office take of just $75.8 million.
