CinemaNow is sold to Sonic


November 19, 2008 Digital media software maker Sonic Solutions has agreed to acquire privately held online movie and video service CinemaNow. CinemaNow will be combined with Sonic's Qflix team to form a new premium content group, led by Sonic executive vp strategy Mark Ely. The Marina Del Rey, Calif.-based company has relationships with more than 250 content providers, including all the Hollywood majors.
