BBC Trust deliberates over Brand prank

November 19, 2008 The BBC Trust will reveal its findings into the Russell Brand show at a press conference held Friday by Trust chairman Michael Lyons, a spokesman for the Trust said Wednesday. The oversight committee for the pubcaster is expected to be critical of BBC management's editorial compliance procedures, which led to the radio broadcast of obscene phone calls to TV presenter Andrew Sachs by presenters Brand and Jonathan Ross. At an appearance before the House of Commons culture committee Tuesday, Lyons appeared to suggest that the Trust could repeal BBC director general Mark Thompson's decision to reinstate TV and radio host Ross after 12 weeks off the airwaves.
